That is pretty much exactly what I need, with the addition of a "hopper" of some kind on the inlet side. How much did that setup run you? It appears there is a place that sells Westfield about 30 miles or so away from me.

Can't find original invoice but $330 + sales tax ball park for the 4" auger. Westfield does make a small end hopper with bearing for the inlet shaft I forget what I paid for that it but I believe it was in the $100.0 range. As described in the link the 1 HP auger motor I picked up it was $123.00 delivered to the house. 10" pulley and A33 drive belt about $30.00 more at a local Amish machine shop here in SEPA.jonathanfry wrote:That is pretty much exactly what I need, with the addition of a "hopper" of some kind on the inlet side. You could home brew a hopper I was in a rush........been burning nut since 82 and added a rice boiler last year. I went over the $500 mark but way under $1K. Been hand loading my dump cart with nut and rice to the basement access. Time is catching up with me I turn 67 in September and the body has been hurting for the past few years so I added some convenience to the proce$$.

You're making me feel awful here. I'm 33 and feel like I would rather bend over and pay the price for oil if I can't find a better way to get my 5 or 6 ton of rice a year into the basement bin...

I think some kind of air transport system with PVC pipe would be cool lol.. It would take a strong vac and some innovative piping with adjustable air only regulator to keep the flow from becoming too rich with coal. You would only need to stand at the coal pile and manually direct the pipe to suck the coal up. Try it..

Pool cleaning hose with smooth interior. Hmmmm??? Might be cheaper than PVC. Will have to check.

Your welcome.jonathanfry wrote:Nice! They have all of the components I would need, I just wonder what the truck freight will be to get it to me... that's the problem and why I was trying to find something local. I'm contacted them though to get an idea of the total cost. Thanks much for the link!
I hope you two get your problem solved.

They have Westfield grain augers. I have not talked to them yet but they show the augers on there website. I want to get the 4" X 11' Utility Auger, similar to the Jetflow auger.

I did pick up the auger hopper bin over the counter at Hamilton Equipment. The did take me back into the warehouse to check out the hopper bin and other items.

Ryder Supply directed me to Farmer Boy Ag. They have everything in already in stock and are putting together a quote for me. It's a Westfield auger but sounds like all of the accessories are available to make it exactly what I need. Hopefully I can save the $250 shipping cost!
