I have a friend that bought a used Reading Tri-burner and asked me about thermostat options for it and the Coalpilot is something he's thinking about. I told him if anybody did this is where you'd find them.

There are loads of forum members successfully using the Coal-Trol Digital Thermostat, but I've personally never heard any mention here of the Coalpilot.

Oh yes there was. The guy got banned and from everything I could gather he is no longer in business.

His You Tube videos are on here and obviously on You Tube also. ;)
He was banned here...I don't know the reason. But his Username was *Gorgie Porgie*

You Tube username was Koalpilot...with a *K*

A couple other members here used the Coalpilots on tri-burners and gave glowing reviews right here on the forum. :)

Just so it's clear the reason for the ban had nothing to do with the product itself.

That gentleman is still around doing his thing and actually has "tweeked" his system now with the addition of a temperature sensor on the flue pipe that can over-ride the thermostat still calling for heat and prevents the over-stoking of the fire and the wasting of coal. It actually sounds like he has it perfected at this point.
