I thought about doing that actually. In fact, I was going to buy a whole new valve yesterday when I went out. But, ultimately I decided against it. I managed to get all the parts to fix the current valve cheaper than it was to buy a new one. So, that's the route I went.

Knowing my luck however, I won't be able to fix the valve. lol

Never was a fan of Clapton myself. But then again, I'm young and if it's not angry shouty music I'm not really interested. That doesn't mean I don't care for classic rock/blues but Clapton was never one I liked.

So, this morning I was reading a bunch of stuff online about these Moen cartridges and turns out all I had to do was turn the stem that the handle attaches to 180º and my hot/cold reversal thing was fixed. So, my wife immediately started yelling because now we've got a box of Moen parts. I'm still going to change out the stop-checks because like I said, I broke one and I'll change the balancing spool because the old one is a little beat but I'm not going to mess around with the cartridge now. I'll just put it in the "plumbing" tool box and save it for the day I do need to change the cartridge.

I'm an idiot sometimes.

LOL..I know. But I didn't have to pull the cartridge.

Apparently all you have to do is turn the stem. When I read your original post I took it as removing the entire cartridge and then rotating it and putting it back. When I tried that I couldn't get it out. That's why I bought all the other parts because I thought I was going to have to replace it.

I never said I was smart.
