I have the coal trol and tonight the convection blower on the stove stopped working I scrambled and found when plugged directly into an outlet it works but off the port on the Coal trol module I only measure 13 volts ac.
I reset the unit same thing no voltage to run the blower.
Anyone have similar problem? It's brand new started the stove up 1/12/2012 not a good track record here.

Recently installed a Ponono with the Coal-Trol. The first night we noticed it was getting cool. Checked the furance and found I had burning coal about 2" square. No combustion fan sound. Shut everything down for the night.

Called the dealer in the morning. He was down in a couple hours and after testing the box, found that the micro chip for the combustion burner was bad. Replaced the whole unit and we were up and running in short time.

DOOH, Think I found my problem with the convection fan power port. Read through the manual, noticed since it's so figgin warm in here thatt he Feed rate was down to 0 and guess what the CFT Convection Fan Threshold was at? CFT=15 so the unit shut the fan off cause it wasn't needed. To test I set the Threshold to 0 and turned the temp override setting to 77 and placed volt meter in the outlet. Watched the voltage steadly climb from the 13 volts up 70 volts. Plugged the fan in and it ran, turneed the temp setting back down to 71 and the fan shut down once the feed rate dropped.
The thing is smarter than me! :P

Does this sound right?

I think I need to see where I want to set this threshold :?:

:) That sounds right to me, Guy. The default CFT setting should have been 8, so you may want to start there with it. Not sure how yours was set to 15. You may want to find the default settings table in the user manual and make sure your settings match up. You can also use the "reset to defaults" feature, which is at the tail end of the Advanced menu. Press and hold MENU for 15+ seconds, screen will either change to an alternating "A ###F"/"R ###F" or read out "ADVNCD". Tap MENU button until you see the word "RESET". Tap UP or DOWN button to perform the RESET to defaults. This reload all settings, including programmed setpoints, to default settings.

Thanks Paul, I think I'm back on track now. Helps to read and understand the manual. Works wonders  I know male thing dabble then read the instructions. I like the flexibilty the coaltrol give you can really help curb the cost and keep the budget in check.
