I like your work. You and some of the other boiler types around here are causing me to start studying the expensive world of boiler fed hydronics. It's got to be done right. I'm feeling the economy and payback through use will cover it. I'm also looking at the fact that you need an automatic on standby generator of quality due to the fact the unit,controls and pumps need continuous power. That has been a huge stumbling block for me. I still feel deep down inside that not relying on a 110 or 220 Volt supply during a storm or major outage period is still the way to go. The cost of a high quality standby generator with 7 to 14 day fuel source,along with quality manifolds and piping will give me a true picture of what a bullet-proof system will cost.

Check Craig's list for generators. Everybody scrambles to get 1 after a major storm. Then they realize that maybe, just maybe they might have overspent to get 1 to use for 3 days, so they try to unload them so they can pay the credit card bill. My dad picked 1 up for a reasonable price for what he needed. And this was while the outages were still going on. Then get one of these rebuilt units and have at it. You will not be sorry ....

Kohler 20kw 5k + labor
Stoker 6-12k depending on brand, size, age
pipe+materials+labor 2-4k depending on size.

My guess is between 13-23k depending on size of job.

Forgot the propane tank, you need havent priced one I rent one 100/year, 1000gal, 750 is what they fill it to. That should last 7-14 days.
