I'm running my channing III on a power vent now and I want to cut down on the noise. I need to have a chimney built. What are the pros and cons ( and approx cost ) of a metal stack or a masonry chimney? I would prefer a block or brick for looks. Thanks

Metal chimney is faster and easier to install, masonry lasts longer and looks better. How high your roof is will determine the price variable. I think metal is cheaper for single story houses, multi stories it's cheaper to buy the blocks and mortar. It also depends heavily if you have anyone willing to put up a block chimney for a reasonable price, every contractor I know wants to be done fast so they charge too much for bricks to try to persuade you to buy a more profitable metal chimney.
