He probably has his set up the "right" way to read a negative value.. Most of us run the tube off the wrong side so we can use the positive side of the scale to measure our negative draft pressure. That way we can see past a "negative" .05

So they WANT a backflow in the chimney??? Somethings not adding up here ....

They said "draft" .... so with that said, I don't think you want to be in the RED zone there unless you have it hooked up backwards (hooked to HI instead of LOW). I believe the "-" refers to the black part of the scale, even though the manometer has a "-" in the red.

Either way, I'm confused ....

EDIT: Ok, that makes sense Lightning. Bit o confusion there ...

SO Wiz, if at some point you need to measure more than a -.05 just hook the tube to the other side of the gauge. Most that I've seen are used this way Of course thats assuming you have it hooked up the "right" way, currently..

No your right Wiz - yours is hooked backwards from mine. Mine IS hooked to LOW. My bad.

I gotta stay out of these technical discussions after a bad day and several beers ....

I had to go downstairs and check ........ and on my way down I lost my balance & jammed my fingers into the light switch ........ BRRRRRRRRZZZZZZZZZZZZAAAAAAAAPPP!!!

OK, I just checked mine. Its on the LOW side.. See this way you can read your draft on the positive side of the scale, where you can see a reading anywhere between 0 and 3 inches WC.. Yours is hooked up the "right" way which is actually oppostite of mine. I'll upload a pic.. Just a second..

Yep - been a while since I looked at mine. Never realized we used them "backwards".

Heres what I mean

You can see now that I have the tube on the low side so that my negative draft pressure (vacuume) is measured on the positive side of the scale, its just cooler to do it that way

Well that explains it, thought I was going nuts. Was wondering why everyone else's on positive side on Mano.

Nope yer not nutz... You just decided to hook yours up the right way lol when everyone else hooks them up backwards..

Working well, I actually was almost on target without mano. Now I'll be able to monitor stoker and tweak performance for better burns.
