It doesn't. The baro works by keeping a limit on the difference between the atmospheric pressure inside the stovepipe and the room it is in. Whether something is sucking on the stovepipe or not, the baro cares not, only the relationship between those two pressures.

Ok so how do I know how high to set the power vent fan speed?

I would refer to the power vent's instructions. If that is no help, I would bring the speed up until the baro starts to crack open and then back down until it's closed. Ideally, you don't want it pulling the baro open if you don't have to.

Most important, make sure the knob is in it's center of travel and fill it slowly until the fluid level gets close to zero. Remember to hook the low port to the pipe and leave the high port open to the room. This will give you negative values on the positive side of the scale. I used a 16 inch length of brake between the pipe and the rubber tubing. The tubing seals nicely on the brake line. The other end penetrates the pipe about 2 inches. The folded tin on the brake line acts as a stop so it doesn't go in too far. See pics Oh and disregard all those screws in the pipe. They are sealing holes where I had mounted a couple snap switches in the past for various experiments

...and let's not forget level on the horizontal and plumb on the face

I forgot to mention a little piece of tubing on the other port hanging down to keep dust out.

yes now I fill it with oil with it standing up and mounted, correct? lightning it is deff time for some new pipe lol

tapping the hole and starting the fab of the brake line, is hanging now to dry after a coat of paint, gotta look presentable lol

You can fill it on a level table top and then mount it. Be careful not to lay it down after filling it. I don't remember if I stood it up to fill it. I think I did. Try it. The pipe install looks great

alright thanks, going down to finish install now that paint is dry

the install, running at the temp that I run at when 15 degrees or below out side, anything above that I run the stove about 250-300 to keep the house 70-74, the wind is starting to pick up outside like usual, this is burning pea size
