- Stoker Coal Boiler: Keystoker
- Coal Size/Type: mostly rice, sometimes buckwheat
I am replying here to an older thread, but I installed a four zone Automag, three wire system back in 1980. No trouble at all with the valves, they are all original. I just had to replace one thermostat after a year or two. One thermostat total. I don't know how something could be more reliable than that.
I put in a strainer, cleaned the whole system with TSP, and used a boiler additive. Serviced it once or twice over the years. Just followed instructions for a new installation.
I cast my vote for the Automag system, Jessup, Pa.

I've been very satisfied with Taco's Zone Sentry zone valves. Not a single issue with them in 4 seasons.
