This load of free coal, 1/2 had been rebagged in plastic contractors bags many yrs ago, but the other 1/2 that was not rebagged had seen some years when I got to the pile. The whole pile had sunk into the ground some. I did get it all, in a blended trip, and stopped at the new Cabelas off of 495 in MA, definitely a good day.

Yepper any time you get free coal it's a GREAT day. Not to worry about it sinkin in the ground like that. It came from the ground so what the heck....maybe it was trying to see some cousins.

Fathers day coal. I got this free pea coal on CL this morning. The bin had 3 sides and a top, so one side was open. The bin was about to fall over. There was much vegetation sitting/growing on the pile of coal inside, that peeled /rolled off easily. Then, jackpot, pea coal. There was a 5 inch diameter beech tree 20 foot tall, growing smack dab center / edge of the open side. I am glad I brought the chain saw. I am thinking the bin had not been touched since the 1960's. I should of had a camera at the scene. Maybe router a sign out of the old bin boards. "COAL BIN"
Now I have to decide where to put this stuff, pea coal, can't live with it, can't live without it, not my preferred size, but it will burn.

If nothing else you can use the boards, split them down and light them and burn them to get the free coal going. No losers in this scenario!!!

Tell us about your new coal stove and tell us (in a general manner) what part of the US you are in via your profile. Nobody is going to steal ya! You never know a fellow NEPA member could be around the corner from you should you need some help with your new stove!
