I bought a good size load of pea (bagged) beacause I'm just not ready to go with bulk yet. I have it way in the back of my yard and I needed to get it from there to the basement. I bought Kimmels coal and sometimes the coal is sopping wet so I can stack it in the basement without making a huge mess. Last year I commandeered my kids slide to help get the coal in the bin. I know I know....meanie. It was for the greater good ok!
So...This weekend I finally got around to building a rig to help me get coal in my bin from the basement window. I'm not sure what to call it, coal hopper funnel thingy doesnt sound very.....professional. How about the POWERBIN 1000? Aaaaaa Aaaaa!(pounds chest) Anyhow, I used it for the first time today and I'm pretty happy with it. Beside adding a couple of teaks, gussets, more welding, adding more clearance for the piston and a coat of paint I'd say it's done. The cool thing is I made it out of scraps and an old tractor implement that I didn't use anymore.

Refit it with a clam for the front -- then you can simply back into the pile -- scoop a load - drop the clam on it - back to the window - lift the scoop via the three point and extend the top link to dump it
COOL

Modify a bucket for the front with the clam/chute and not break your neck!
Or...
Just build a funnel box and use the loader as is...
Then move it away with the tractor...
Nice build though...
Sometimes it is good just to build stuff for the sake of doing it...
You could use it to move concrete too...

I love it, Power Dump 2000! It kinda stinks....hehe.DVC500 at last wrote:Excellent! How much does it hold? Power-Dump 2000?
It holds 1000lbs or 20 50lb bags or 1/2 ton or .50 tons.
Capecoaler,
The reason I put it in the back is because It can lift twice as much as the bucket in the front. When I back it up to the window I can see exactly where the chute is (Birds eye view). If it were in the front, the bucket would be in the way of my view. Just think about what your viewpoint is. Believe me this is much better. Also, In the winter months when it's slippery there's nothing better than to have 1000lbs on the back tires for traction.
Sting,
Not sure about any clams I'm too far inland for those. Almost an hour away, plus red tide. Freddy might be able to get some for me though.

**Broken Link(s) Removed**Even I know what a clamshell is...
But this is more like a 4in1 bucket...
Set it up on the rear...
The spout is the movable part...
