From the Energy Information Administration 2005 Annual Coal Report
For Pennsylvania Anthracite Coal 1.679 million tons total were mined. 0.271 million tons from underground mines and 1.408 million tons from surface. There were 68 mines with 691 employees.
Average Open Market Sales Price per ton $41
Total coal production was 1,131.5 million tons.
