Is there a setting in the coal-trol to slightly lower the cumbustion fan speed. Im tring to burn low during and during these warm days it creating some pressure that is not being overtake by the little bit of draft that is created. I can run my min feed down to 3 and still have a fire going so thought I would try to slow down the fan speed a bit.

No, the combustion fan is not speed controlled. We strongly recommend you increase your MIN in order to generate some more draft during these transitional seasons. If you want to continue pushing the limits (make sure you have a working CO detector near by at the very least, and again we do not recommend you burn with such a low draft), you can partially cover the inlet hole on the combustion fan to reduce airflow.

Did I mention you should not burn if your draft is too low to clear the combustion gases properly? Increasing the MIN will increase heat in the stove and lower sections of the chimney and should help generate a better draft when the outdoor temp is warm.

This is kinda what I thought. I have increased the min and this keeps the draft a little stonger. I have many CO detectors and have yet to have any problems there. I didnt want to get into blocking off the inlet hole on the fan, seemed a little to hard to regulate.

I'll just keep the min higher, and such much for the idea of buring year round to make DHW.

That's what I had to do on my LL to keep the draft up when warm outside...I think I had to raise it ot 10 or 15...

I have disconnected the distribution fan plugs and run them straight to the UPS. The stove is in the basement so noise is not an issue and with my cold air returns mixing things around a bit is good. Here is the strange part, the fans seem to run smoother. Does the coaltrol, by stepping down the speed, add heat to the motor, is it still sine wave? Or am I imagining things.

yes on my Hyfire II during this time of the year my min, with only 1 side burning, is at 6. I set this using a manometer. once it gets cold and stays cold I drop down to 4. on warmer days I just shut it right off and relight at night if need be. this will be my 2nd year with the coal-trol/Hyfire II combo. last year my CO2 monitors never made a peep. you can borrow a manometer from matthaus.
