Perfect Burn???

i just hooked up my pioneer rear vent. got everything hooked up and fired according to the fireup instructions. the coal trol is set to the default settings.
any tips on what the perfect burn should look like on the grate. where should the the burn be? how big? right now its about 4.5in. up from edge and about 2in. of hot coals. and the coals don't look to be fully burned. any help would be greatly appriencated thanks ron

Sounds about right, full burn should have about 1" of ash and maybe 3-5" burning coals, the flames may rise pretty high, but that's okay.

It all depends on the temp outside. You'll get it all dialed in - give it time.
