The city inspector came out this a.m. I officially have a VERY toasty house
TOO toasty. My Lord. I had to open all my windows once it hit 77degrees!! I did not realize that, after the first burn to get it up and running, you have to turn the Coal-Trol way down to get the bed of coal line thinner
77 downstairs, 72 (at least) up. When you've gotten used to 63 degrees because of oil prices, 77 is HOT!!! Had to get those humidifiers going.
I am so glad I went with a power vent versus metal chimney (my house is over 30 feet high). I hardly hear it running and it is a lot less unsightly than a huge, metal chimney up the front of my house.
I cannot say enough for Cranston Coal Company in RI. They are the BEST.
I cannot say enough for Jerry from Leisure Line as well. He spoke with the city inspector for 1/2 hour. The inspector had never seen a coal stoker or a power vent used for one. He was very confused and concerned. Jerry explained everything, put him at ease, and now I think the inspector is going to buy an Econoline!!!
Thanks for all the topic threads. I've read most of them and they were SO helpful.

"Thank god for great customer support that jerry offers with his LL. You wouldn't catch Harman helping you "
Agreed. Very impressed for sure. I will own one just because of his support here.

Great to hear your good news. I too have the same stove and had the same trouble with TOO much heat when I first lit the stove.
I busted up laughing reading that the inspector now wants one too
Jerry and LL are the best.
Good luck with your stove.
