Just hooked up a Leisure Line Pioneer Back vent using a power vent. I am using a coal-trol that seems to be the brains. I am getting alot of large ash as opposed to a fine dust. I used to burn a Surdiac which gave me a very fine ash. I am concerned that I am not burning the coal thoroughly and thus efficiently. Using bagged Reading coal forthe time being. Any comments / suggestions?

Running a top vent Pioneer using Reading bagged rice. Ash is about same size as unburned but crushes to dust in fingers. Running to chimney here. What's your min/max set at by the way and outside temps?

Min 4 Max 39
Outside temps are in high fifties. I don't need to be running stove now but want to work the kinks out before the eleventh hour. Maybe our trusted congress should take this approach huh!

Running mine since 9/26. min 6 and max 50 for now. No oil except for DHW since started but only starting to cool off here. Temps 50s during day, lows in 30s. "Trusted Congress" is that kinda like an oxymoron?
