getting my new stove up for the season does anyone use the 6 inch duct option to transfer heat >>>>how hot will that pipe get does anyone know I need to run mine across a hvac insulated duct hose.....will it melt it or catch fire

I would bet it could see 200F or more. Be careful. I can create 250F if I crank up my Harman hand fired.

Hi guys doesnt no one use the duct feature on the Harman mag to transfer the heat? if so can you please tell me an idea on how hot that pipe gets more answers would be appreciated ...........thanks

I know my 8" duct off the top of my Hyfire only gets 100-150 (inside the pipe) temp. Yours could be different, but depends on how it harnesses the heat. I measure mine about 6 Feet from teh stove, just before it goes upstairs.

I use the 6" duct option on my Magnum and yes... it gets very very hot! I have had this unit in two homes now and used the option each time. In my previous home I used actual stove pipe to plumb the air up to a brass register I cut into my hallway. I did the same at my new home but am using aluminum flexible vent pipe. When I have the stoker going full blast (I keep my home 80 or so...) the floor register is too hot to touch.

WOW, that's hot, I think most of my heat is lost to radiant heat off the sides of my stove, working on a jacket to harness more!!
