It seems as if we have gone through coal at a much higher rate this season. I just noticed last night that I think I have a blower motor "out". I didn't see it spinning when the stove was cooking last night. I touched the motor and it seemed quite HOT. I need to figure this thing out.
Any thoughts from Afar?

That blower has 2 major components ... Coal-trol thermostat that turns blower on and auto-adj the CFM output and the blower itself. Assuming this is correct...and that its a Leisure Line stove...https://leisurelinestove.com/product/pioneer-let/
Can you bypass the Coal-trol and see if fan blows ? You post implies its not blowing at all.
I you find that bypassing the Coal-trol then the blower appears bad. You can remove and re-test on your work bench to double check.
If your blower is not currently blowing then its possible that the Coal-trol is not functioning either; only putting a blower on or testing to see if it is calling for the blower to turn on (but can't because its non-functional) possibly with a multimeter or possibly a Kill-O-watt (if its drawing power but the blower is seized, the Kill-O-Watt might show the power kwh being sucked up by the frozen blower motor).
Possible the Coal-trol failed and the blower got too hot without it being turned on.
Loss of efficiency ? I cannot comment as its hard to say.

Update: I plugged the blower fan in directly and it started humming but it didn't spin.
The OTHER blower blows when there is a call for more heat, so I woudn't think it's a coal-trol issue.

There you go .. you have a direction now. Replace frozen blower (or try to fix via cleaning and lubrication or yelling at it).WessWackos wrote: ↑Thu. Mar. 16, 2023 10:21 amUpdate: I plugged the blower fan in directly and it started humming but it didn't spin.

Age of blower unk and cost to replace unk...up to you, of course.

I will remove it, clean it, AND yell at it and see if it does the trick..............I'd love to not have to buy a new one.
Thank you for the wisdom, David!

If it has oil ports, 3 or 4 drops of 20w oil might help loosen it up.

Hey guys, I removed the blower and cleaned it up. Oiled the two ports and pulled it into the wall. It just sits there humming, but nothing is spinning. I'm guessing it should be fanning me pretty fiercely at that point, correct?

Typically that's how a fan works. Sometimes there's a dead spot in the motor. Spin the fan a couple times and try it again. You may get lucky as it's a last ditch effort. But if it works, it could keep you running while you order another.WessWackos wrote: ↑Fri. Mar. 17, 2023 10:44 amHey guys, I removed the blower and cleaned it up. I spun that sucker around and around. I put a few drops into the shaft of it to see if it might loosen it up. Just buzzes.waytomany?s wrote: ↑Fri. Bummer. Save the cord, sometimes they melt when you're not paying attention.

Nuts. Ok on the cord.
Where do you all order your parts from? I have a LL dealer about 30 minutes away if I NEED to go. Temps are fine so no emergency as the other blower has been doing the job up to this point anyway.

I buy my cheepo Chinesium $20 replacement blowers (vs $125 from Hitzer) on ebay .. since my fan is totally different, my sourced ones are not relevant...but the premise is sound.WessWackos wrote: ↑Fri. Mar. 17, 2023 11:15 amNuts. Ok on the cord.

Gotta make sure the fan you order is an appropriate substitute.
