Simple question I hope. My older leisure line with the carpet feeder's adjustment screw is loose enough on the threads that it will only stay at full turn positions. Is there something reccomended to put on the threads to gum them up a bit so it will stay at a half turn when needed? Hopefully I'm explaining this well, attached is a pic of my feeder screw setup.

I bet a few turns of Teflon tape would tighten it up enough...

If the threads are worn and cannot be brought back to life via tapping then a replacement is an option.

Its the best option .. but depends on the user as to corrective action.

A vise grip may suffice until end of season to examine more closely. Use something that won't catch on fire to protect threads.

I've never run my Alaska carpet feed stove on 1/2 turns. I wanted to be able to fine tune the burn a little more, so I replaced the 1/4-20 original rod with a homemade 1/4-28 one. It works well. A closer look at your pic seems like they are fine threads?

I always run mine as your pic shows. A half turn would be 180 degrees vertical and really change the stroke because of the geometry of the setup, IMO. 1/4 turn shouldn't matter much, maybe that's what you mean.

Think teflon would be ok, on my setup there's a small fan blowing across that area to keep the motors cool so nothing like teflon should catch fire or melt. Your setup may be different.

Tighten a small nut against it.

Use a nylon locking nut ... should have thought of this earlier
