I have an Alaska Stoker 2 that came with the house when we bought it 2 years ago. The stove is probably between 10 and 15 years old. Last week I had an issues where the set screws from the block that attach to the auger worked loose and the arm came off. I put the arm back on. It worked for a few days and then it seemed like the motor was having issues. It would cycle and then stop and the coal would back up on the carpet and start to catch the hopper. I replaced the motor and everything worked fine for a few hours, but then the coal was not moving down the carpet fast enough and catching the coal in the hopper. I called the store I bought the motor for and they said there is a five minute cycle time on the motor. Is there a way to adjust that cycle time other then the blower/auger setting?

Update:
I do see where the motor has a "down" cycle. I tore apart and cleaned out all of the fly ash. It appears to be running. The concern I have now is that even at speed 5 the ash is not being pushed down the carpet. Any thoughts on how to correct for this?

Is the coal feeding? As long as coal is feeding into the fire the ash should get pushed off. Is it possible you just didn't wait long enough for the ash to get pushed off?

Thank you for the reply Idlorah.
Update:
When the arm came off initially the auger position changed so it wasn't properly feeding the coal on to the carpet. Everything is back to normal (fingers crossed).
