When my stove is running it has an egg smell coming from it. Seems to have a decent draft and just had it cleaned yesterday. CO detector upstairs from stove reads zero. Any suggestions ??

Do you have a manometer to verify that the draft is in fact, decent?

How old are your stovepipes? They can get pin holes in them and cause that smell after just 3 or 4 years. Pin holes can be hard to spot.

Welcome. What you are describing is usually a result of insufficient draft, excessive combustion air, or both.

What are you running for a stove?

If it's coming up thru the hopper, it could be TOO much draft, are you getting any moisture in the hopper? it could be burning too far back on the grate and going up thru the hopper. You could have a grate leak in the back causing it to burn too far back.

You def. need to set your draft with a gauge.

what stove? chimney or direct/power vent?

I think some harmens are bottom fed and push up and do burn back a bit. not sure if those are sealed also around the edges.

could be your draft or something. door gasket? ash door gasket? make sure you have it set on the stove with a draft gauge correctly. maybe pipes need sealed.

Make sure you have good CO detectors, but you should not smell it unless something is leaking somewhere.
definately get your draft checked, check pipes, seams for any leaks if gaskets are all good on doors. etc...

Could the stove be sucking air from outside wherein its sucking in the exhaust that has the smell ?
