Alaska 140 dual grate

Hey all, looking for some info on how to properly adjust this Alaska my inlaws have. They just moved to a new place that has an Alaska 140 dual grate and a keystoker bay window. The Alaska is in the basement hooked up to a plenum to heat the house the baywindow is in the family room for extra heat. Here are some pictures of the controls. I have it running I just want to make sure I'm adjusting the right things the get it to fire properly. Right not I believe the idle feed rate is to slow the fire is quite far back on the grate when idling. Thanks.

Here is picture of the fire. Been idling for quite some time. Idle feed was @5 I increased to 7 about an hour ago.

He's correct as I had helped another member with questions about their 140 in that thread. The idle can go so low until it literally goes out. If the strongback gasket is in good working order, and loud shut on the hopper, then it'll not burn up into the hopper and basically just idle down to the point there is barely any glow. I used to used a coal-trol to idle mine down like that. You won't hurt anything idling low except it's not as efficient as running full tilt, but you also aren't pushing extra coal and wasting heat so it balances.

Right now based on your new idle picture, unless you want that level of heat from idle, I would say you can back it down. You can idle it enough that you can place your hand on the front steel above the fire door and it'll just be warm.
