First time posting so hopefully I’m in the right spot. Have a 105 stoker stove and that I cut a 6” duct into the top blocking off the front port. The 6” ducts runs upstairs about 5’ and then goes to a floor register. The convection blower runs for between 1 minutes a 2 seconds to a minute and 4 sections and then kicks off. Sits for the same amount of time then kicks back on. I thought maybe the 6” duct was restricting causing it to hit the limit switch but unsure on how to check it. Looked at many posts on here and everyone seems very knowledgeable so hopefully you guys can help me get this figured out. Thanks!

Find these on eBay or Amazon. Wire into that fan and you can fine tune for longer fan cycle at lower fan speed.

You could also plug the fan directly into a temp controller.
I've been using the one below since 2017, shockingly the price has only increased $6
. I ran the temperature probe into my duct, when the stove starts burning hot the air in the plenum warms up and kicks the sensor on, turns off at set temp so you aren't blowing 'cool' air.

All are very good options above that I didn’t think of but I feel like I should be getting more heat from my stove than I am. Would this possibly have anything to do with it?

To tell you the truth, no, convection fan will never improve a fire.Tthisse1764 wrote: ↑Mon. Nov. 21, 2022 7:45 pmAll are very good options above that I didn’t think of but I feel like I should be getting more heat from my stove than I am. Would this possibly have anything to do with it?
Two things that you need to make heat…coal and air. Not enough of either and you go bust.
Air out equals air in…an unrestricted path is a must for greater heat output. Air cannot get in in the first place if it is choked off somewhere trying to get out.
Coal you can see!! Air only see the delayed effects to the coal. Too much air will sound the CO alarms. And then maybe when not home. Must have a manometer so don’t take that shortcut and learn a tuff lesson.
