I have to say that I made some rookie mistakes, namely putting the ashy coal we got with the stove on the grates to start it. I did however get it to burn well after playing with the fire. The only real problem with this stove is that the distribution blower is either gummed up or has to get replaced: there really isn't much airflow from it. I do have to say though, our house is warm and it is only idleing!

Fire looks good. Let us know what you figure out with the blower.

clean the dust and dirt out of the motor and give it some light oil. I use 0w20 motor oil in a small oil can.

I took the blower out and cleaned all of the dust out of it. I also oiled the motor as much as it would take. Now it is just waiting until the next time it gets cold enough to fire up the stove to find out how much of a difference that made.

Just a few drops of oil is plenty for the season. You don't want to over do it.
