I am in need of a new stoker motor for my Harmon magnum coal stove and not having any luck. Does anyone know where I could find one? They seem to be out of production.

Looks like stove-parts unlimited can get one for you by special order... Wow is it expensive.

That Legacy $476. shaded pole replacement motor style is much more inferior than the original PSC motor style. And more so overpriced for poor quality part.
That $499. one will be the cheaper in the long run.

Gentlemen, Thank you for your quick replies. I don't think I would feel comfortable using Legacy's replacement. However, that being said, I may be forced to use it as the direct replacement is on backorder. I have had one on order since the end of March of this year and was told that it would ship in 4-6 weeks. It has now been 9 weeks and I was told it would be another 4 weeks. As you can guess I'm starting to get concerned even if it is 90 degrees here today. I want to thank both of you guys for your prompt replies. Thank you very much.

McGiever, I too hope it will all work out. I think what happened to the old one is a bearing in the motor bit the dust as I could hear it sounding like a pig in pain . Right now my plan is to remove the gearbox and look at the motor bearings. As long as it didn't spin in the housing, I may be able to just replace it. I certainly hope so.

I looked at one a couple of years ago thinking it may have some parts I could place on the shelf for spares. From the photos it had been totally abused. Even the sides were warped. And it was $600.00 so needless to say I passed. I'll keep looking but I'm not holding my breath. Thanks for the idea.

Old thread, i know. I'm not sure if you have the Super Magnum Stoker or the older Magnum Stoker. But the feed motor for the Magnum Stoker is still available. I bought one on Amazon in summer 2020. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000BGV5RA/ref= ... UTF8&psc=1. Not cheap. It's a direct replacement, and worked perfectly.

Thanks for you input. I have the older Magnum Stoker. The bearings failed in the motor on mine late last March. I was able to find a local shop that replaced the bearings for about 1/3 the cost of a new unit which was unavailable at the time.I also noticed that these units are available from Graingers now so I also picked one up so I have a spare. Thanks.

No problem. I wish I'd looked a little harder to find someone able to replace the bearings in mine. Good for you. You'll be set for awhile, and having a spare...excellent.

The name of the company is Wolf Electric and they are located in the area around Sharon, Pa. A really nice older gentleman named Ron is the owner. He treated me like I was a old friend. I don't have the phone number right now but I can get If you want.
