Ya agreed if it’s within a couple hundred for the year I would def pay the difference to have someone cover it if I lost my house lol. The problem is I also have one in the garage which I’ll have to be quiet about because I believe that’s a huge no no now

I'm in NY also but my homewners/farm policy is through a local co-op,
no issue at all about my insert.

I’m in PA and have Erie as well. No issues and they know I have a coal furnace. Actually they have a program, don’t remember the name offhand, that is a major systems replacement plan. Basically, if a major system like heating or AC goes down and isn’t worth fixing all you have to pay is your deductible for a comparable replacement. It covers my two heat pumps, coal furnace, propane fireplace, and major appliances. They told me if something goes, I just need a certified company/service tech. to write a letter that the system needs to be replaced. Look into it. Good luck!

Bedford Grange, agent came to house and showed her the installation specs, also got out my yardstick and level, proved everything was correct, manometer on wall behind stove with correct draft, laser gun to show stove temps and wall temps, added a little cost to my policy, everybody happy.

I'm also in NY with an insert in my fireplace for coal.
No issues with my homeowners, but it is also a rural county co-op.
