Still chasing problems with this stove does anybody have videos with their is running. And what They are ashes look like cinders after burning buck coal. How come my flames are so low on the grate? Is this normal? It’s running at 80% on the high setting The second video I post was sent from a friend and he’s only on the second click on his in his flames look like they’re shooting to feet. Can somebody tell me what is the correct CFM of the motor for the older model. Shouldn’t mine be the same as the Alaskan Stoker? Or am I comparing apples to oranges If there is a problem is it an air problem is it a feed problem is it a coal problem. Thanks

have you cleaned all the holes on the grate? Check gaskets under the grate. cleaned blower fins.
Each stove/mfr is different and designed a certain way for optimum burn.
could be really bad coal, try other brand if possible. Assuming you are using RIce size?

I am thinking arond 45-75cfm on most combustion blowers for these types of stoves.
I'd contact Leisure Line, they should know what blower is correct. if too much CFM you will burn TOO hot and cause the clinkers to form, i get small ones at times especially now when its burning hotter for extended periods of time when it's really cold. I have a LL Hyfire, but shouldn't be much different the way it runs.

are you running coaltrol or standard thermostat.

Thanks WNY I was told to burn buck. I’ve been chasing this thing since I’ve bought the stove.
I finally got fed up today and shut it down again looked everything over couldn’t find any air leaks looked at the great it looks good to me but I said what the heck let’s run a 1/8 drill bit through all the holes. Must’ve been a little bit of mushroom in there because it seems to be operating better at this time I will see by tomorrow morning . I didn’t think these grades were fine tuned like running jets in a carburetor. I’m still looking at upgrading the blower thanks for the reply I wanted to know how high I could go. What’s the best price out there for one.

You would know quickly if it was the coal if you switched to rice for a bag or two.

It’s Lehigh valley anthracite coal. Yup as soon as I get some extra money I’m gonna pick some up I was doing a mix of rice and buck I should’ve went straight rice . I would still like to know what blower I could upgrade to that has the square flange so I could get more CFM. Thanks for the reply
