Hot Air Coal Stoker Furnace: Combustioneer 77

Post by Belle0010 » Mon. Jan. 24, 2022 6:37 pm

I’v got a combustioneer 77. Last year it seem to heat well. Fired it up and Everything looks to be working well . It burned the last 2 days but want get temp above 50 degrees, thermostat is located 3 ft from the stove. The stove run most of the time trying to get up to temp setting. I’ve heated a 30x60 greenhouse with plastic and it keep it 60 degrees . It’s in a 30x50 building and I’ve got it split into 2 areas . So it’s not to much to heat . The only thing has changed since last year is the coal and new stove pipes. It’s burning the coal down good with not much clinkers. There isn’t black smoke out the stove pipes outside. I clean it out morning and night and get a small coal bucket of stuff out . My main problem is I’m not getting very much heat. I’ve got a picture of the fire box open . This flame is a little high, I adjusted the air flow a little, it does have a damper installed that you turn by hand. . I wouldn’t think I would need to change coal feed if it been working fine the last 3 years . I’ve done the paper test on the firebox and the paper stays on it with the draft . Do I have to much input air and blowing all the heat up the pipes? Does anyone have any thought ??The picture is just after I cleaned it out and started it back up .

You are fine with out barometric damper as you know how to use the manual turn one.

There are better members here than me for speaking of your Combustioneer heat output issues. Hold tight! 🙂

I didn’t ask him at the coal yard where I bought it . But the coal came from eastern Ky . I know that’s not telling you much as there are different types of coal over there . I can call and see if he knows in the morning. As far as what I used last year I have no idea . I’ve just fired this stove up yesterday .
