Alaska Channing II just finished restore

Just finished the restoration on this one. I put the new glass in it last year so that I didn’t change. Otherwise got it all cleaned up and repainted.

It does work really well. I like the Channing II because It doesn’t have the coal trol system. The coal troll isn’t user friendly for a garage. The coal troll works perfectly as designed- set it for a temp and it will do a perfect job regulating the stove to keep the area that temp. The Channing II has the manual controls. Set it for a feed rate and it will continue feeding at the rate specified. As the outside warms up throughout the day the II will continue to put out the same heat and the garage will come up to a working temp. Outside could be 50 and the garage would be @ 70. With the coal troll set it to 45 and it will stay at 45 even if the outside gets to 50.
