Hello my dvc 500 is still burning great. It’s in a 1500 sq ft garage and I’m wondering about stove temp vs room temp if I am not in the shop and want to conserve coal will it burn less coal in room temp or stove temp? Right now I keep it at feed rate 1 stove temp 1 and on low and it keeps it around 60 degrees when it’s in the high 20s low 30s

Hi I also have a DVC500 and with the warmer than normal temperatures so far I have been running 1’s and low Stove, I think if you set it on room temperature then if you have the door open or a cool breeze hit that sensor it will call for heat using more coal

Thanks that makes sense does the fan speed account for any more usage of coal cause on room temp it will kick the fan speed up or down right? Where on stove temp it stays on low medium or high the whole time depending on which setting you have it on right?

I think fan speed is controlled to maintain temperature when in room temperature mode, I usually have mine on high on stove temperature (when the outside temperature is below 30 degrees, the stove heats the house with no problem , I like being able to control it ! With these temperatures 30’s 40’s I have been keeping it on stove temperature and 1’s and low fan speed so I don’t heat us out of the house LOL
