- Hot Air Coal Stoker Stove: Harmen super mag
- Coal Size/Type: Rice
I just purchased a used Harmen super mag and it's been running for about 12 house. Unit is good and hot. But I feel that the burn on the shoot isn't correct. It the book it says a two inch think band of hot coal across the grate. As mins burning the whole grate down towards the pusher block is glowing.

What are you wearing " Jake from State Farm "
It looks good to me. New or used stove ? If used, did you clean under the grate before lighting ?
Proof reading is your friend.

Thanks for the response. I bought it used from a stove dealer and they said they serviced it. I guess I can't assume they did everything. I have it set on 2 with the highest feed rate. The blower damper didn't really effect it at all

Not familiar with your stove, but fire on the grate looks good to me as well.

But should the coal be burning that far back. It's almost at my fire bricks.oliver power wrote: ↑Sat. Nov. 06, 2021 8:01 pmNot familiar with your stove, but fire on the grate looks good to me as well.

With the way the Harman pushes coal up kind of like a ramp before the fire brick and they run a deep bed it is probably is ok. Hopefully a Magnum burner will respond.

Any stove I'm interested in I read the manual. I remember reading that manual recently and there was a picture of correct burn profile. Find the manual and I believe it will answer your question.
