I’m either going to buy a used harman dvc or a leisure line pioneer with direct vent. For a large garage the leisure would be a more but several years newer. I currently have a hitzer 608 in the house that I love. What are the benefits of one vs the other thank you

The Harman line was bought by AHS and is now Legacy Stoves. They list parts for the DVC 500 but that doesn't mean they will available forever. You'd have to call them to see if it's old stock or if they are continuing to make them.

Thanks I’m going to go with the harman cause I can get it for $600 with over a ton of coal. It’s just for a garage.
I may be purchasing a leisure line lil heater for upstairs in the house as well though.

In my garage I’m going to be keeping the Alaska Channing 3. It doesn’t have the electronic coal troll system. It has turn dials that I can adjust the feed mechanically. I had a 608 in my garage and it is a truly awesome stove but not for my application. It did what it was supposed to but not what I needed. The coal troll would keep the garage at the desired temp set. Problem was it did exactly that. If it was set for 50 it would keep it 50 and go down to base idle when it go warmer out. The Alaska with the mechanical I could adjust it and leave it during the night. Then the outside temp would drop and the stove would keep the shop about 20 degrees warm than outside. With that, during the day when it got warm outside the shop would still be 20 above outside and I could ‘play’ in there in the evening after work.
