My stove is making an intermittent squealing sound. It is coming from the circular motor? Fan? that is positioned on the back of the stove below the feeder mechanism.
Any idea what that is, why it is squealing, and what can be done to fix it?
Thank you in advance for your help!

Have you oiled your motors? Most motors need 2 to 3 drops each year. The blue 3in1 or a zoom oiler both work great. Do not over oil... Just 2 to 3 drops per year is enough.

If it's the stoker motor, making the noise when it's running, something could be jammed on the pusher plate, or a lot of fines under it, might need a good cleaning.
If it's the combustion blower, oil/lube as stated above, sometimes you have to remove motor to oil, the oil holes on each end could be on the bottom depending on how it's mounted.

Most likely the stoker motor. Order a new motor. Fix the old one and keep it as a spare.

Thanks guys, everything appears to be working fine, except for the periodic chirping. I will gett some oil in there! Do I have to shut the stove down for this? I am guessing so. Pardon my cluelessness.

Also, is there anything else that needs to be oiled? Blower motors?

This is the culprit. It doesn't look like the picture posted.

from the pic, Looks like your oil holes are on top, one next to the clip, other on should be across from it, so you can oil while running. no need to shut it down.

What is the name of the part I am looking at? I oiled it up and it is as loud and cranky as ever. I'm just waiting for it to give up the ghost at any point and then we'll be cold.

Ok...so I removed the motor and took the part apart. Cleaned it up. Oiled it. Plugged it in and it ran perfectly without a chirp at all. I put it back on the stove and in ran quietly for a bit, and then it went back to squeeling.
I don't get it. If it was bad, wouldn't it just stop working altogether?
I checked the grate and it was pretty clean too.

That's the combustion fan. I believe it is a fasco 50747-d500 (Look on label to confirm). I saw one yesterday on Amazon for $67. Once they start squealing from lack of oil, they can't always be brought back to life. You'll need a new one. My Keystoker uses the 50748-d500 model.
