it involves adding a second fan for the combustion air. i used a broan 50 cfm bathroom fan for combustion air and a dayton 3m095 gear motor for the carpet feed.

For a replacement motor sku2489 is what you need. You can get them for under $150. Thats not a bad price for the many heating seasons you can get out of them if properly lubricated and cleaned. Im not sure if they sell an "aftermarket" one.
