Hot Air Coal Stoker Stove: LL Hyfire II w/ coaltrol in garage
Coal Size/Type: Pea in AA 260, Rice in LL Hyfire II
Other Heating: Gas fired infared at work

That control is just a fancy rheostat to increase the amount of coal fed onto the burner. It will work great but you will have to adjust it for different heat needs.

A Coal-trol would work perfectly on your stove. The difference is that a Coal-trol will automatically adjust the stove to maintain the set temperature. Something to consider if you want to make your stove a set it and forget it type unit.
