We got our prototype in and running. So far all I can say is what a heating machine this is.

Is that a pellet stove size vent pipe? Is it possible to get pictures from the side and the back? I wonder if that would work vented up my fireplace chimney?
Looks good! DS makes some solid stuff.

I’ll get some more pics tomorrow. You’d need to run a 4 inch liner with a clean out T connected to the stove. On medium I can keep my hand on the pipe with this throwing some nice heat

That’s pellet pipe. This is a prototype so they’re releasing 50. We have 2 left.

If it could fit flush up against the fireplace and I could run the pipe off the back and up the chimney I'd be intrigued.

My local dealer had one, but it wasn’t burning. They had parts coming from DS. It’s a prototype, so that’s part of the process.
Couple of concerns I had:
1. The control board on top is mounted to the hopper lid. The conduit goes through the hopper area. Wet coal could cause problems.
2. The unit I looked at had some rust stains on the back. The operators said that there was some condensation in the hopper that dripped back when they loaded it. I didn’t see it burning, so this could be from wet coal, but as a flat grate Keystoker owner, this raises some concerns.
I really hope that they get the bugs worked out of this unit. A rice stoker that uses a pellet exhaust could really sell well in my neck of the woods.

We have had no problems with ours. Very efficient. We’ve run it since the day we got it. I’m quite pleased. The one issue is the air tight hopper. Wet coal will condensate on the under side of the lid. I’ve spoken with them numerous times brainstorming a solution. My thought was to run a tube from the back of the hopper into a nipple connected to the air intake pipe. They are going to put a scoop on the back of the hopper lid. Honestly, the hopper doesn’t need to be air tight. The feeder closes off the Shute into the hopper after feeding. What I do is I’m not latching the lid for a few hours after loading the hopper. Problem solved lol. They’ve spent a lot of time on this. The exhaust blower safety feature is cool. If the stove senses low draft the exhaust blower kicks on. I have our simply connected up and out the wall with 4 inch pellet pipe. I also don’t have the air intake hooked up. I’m drawing from the room trying to get it to fail. One other issue is the feeder closing off the hopper causes a crunching sound. With an airtight hopper it doesn’t need to close it off. No other stokers do not do they have airtight hoppers. At the end of the season they’ll take all the feed back and make any final changes. They’ll also do the final testing with Guardian to mark the efficiency and BTU ratings. In my opinion, on high, I’m guessing in the 125,00 range on high. I’m also going to guess in the mid 80 percent in efficiency. I’ve burned all the stokers out there and I haven’t had one that heats like this. I’d compare it to the Koker 160.

Thanks, I appreciate it. Seems like a cool stove.
