I have had a coal stove for many years but have never seen this issue. The stove is a Keystoker. Coal will slide down one side of the chute. When it does this it is pushing the fire down into the ash pan. Any thoughts on why this is happening?

First check if stove is level, some others found this and when corrected all was well again.

Stove is level, if anything slightly back towards the hopper. No fines int the grate. The guy I get my coal from suggested a couple of finishing nails in the grate holes. Im guessing this may act as a studded snow tire. We will see.

Are you pushing burning coal off the grate or is fused coal pulling the ash off the end.

if it's pushing hot coals off the grate, your feed is too much, back the adjustment screw back a turn or two. you should have about 1/2-1" of ash at full burn.

I’m running a Keystoker too, so I’m curious about this. Weird how it is only on one side. Can you post some Picts? Is your pusher bar advancing evenly when it calls for coal? Maybe the nylon screws are messed up on one side. Just a thought.

So what I found is that one side of the auger bar could not be tightened down all the way with the bolt that was in it. I added a couple washers to it so it is tight. The coal seems to be pushing down evenly now.
