He sent me this picture of his KEYSTOKER 105. I gave him some thoughts. Thought I'd post this picture he sent me, and turn you all loose... He's burning rice coal. He has never cleaned the air holes in grates. Probably hasn't done much if anything.... Looks to me like maybe leaking air from between the grates, or maybe plugged grate holes near the sides of the stoker bed. Could also have drag at the sides of stoker bed. Anything else??? I haven't looked at it. Just going by picture... [attachment=0]Keystoker 105.jpg

I think you covered it! Shut it down clean the holes in the grate, check the seal on the sides and centero of the grate. Remove the combustion fan and vacuum underneath the grate.

Thanks 2001Sierra. He's had the stove for; I'm guessing, 3 or 4 years now. Sounds about right for a complete shut down, and go through.....2001Sierra wrote: ↑Fri. +1... I'm betting that underneath the grates is completely full of fines and causing that uneven burn.2001Sierra wrote: ↑Fri. Nov. 08, 2019 10:41 pmI think you covered it! Grate hole clean out time!! And if its like one i helped with this past week probably the fans need cleaning real bad too!
Not that it matters much since cleaning is needed either way....the burn seems to indicate the center air holes are blocked more than the sides. Since there is more ash on the sides that means the coal there is getting more air & burning faster than the center.

Classic "Smiley Face" fines piled up under grate, agree a good whole stoker cleaning is due.
