Hello,
I am replacing the gasket material on the doors, etc. of my HYFire 2. Do I use the red silicon or high heat mortar to secure the gasket to the stove surfaces?

I have used both red and copper RTV with no issues. Copper is good to 700 degrees...

The RTV you describe is good. I have used the Red and the Black..both seem to be just fine.
When gluing the gasket down, I like to put down a bead, set the gasket on it, then cover the gasket with a strip of wood which is either clamped down or held with bricks until the RTV dries.
This helps to ensure that the gasket is fully 'stuck' everywhere.
Before putting down the new RTV...use a wire wheel or some sort of 'flap disc' sander to get down to bare metal so that the RTV stick.
