My cycle timer motor failed for the Intermatic C8865 control timer which runs furnace 1 minute 15 seconds per hour to keep the fire going in my Axeman Anderson 260,000 btu boiler. Internet and Grainger says it is no longer available and I wonder if someone has one or a suggestion for a new control. I bought and picked up boiler in 1980 in Williamsport, PA and then went back and bought the 4 running boilers they were using in their old factory. They were moving to a new facility across the river. Thanks for any advice. Jerry

Nepacoal: Thank you very much. It certainly looks like the way to go. My local son can help me figure out the wiring. At 81 I am toooo old to learn how do make changes to existing systems. I can just copy the old if the same olds are still available.
Best and thanks!! Jerry

I'm glad I could help... Good luck with the rewiring. The connections were essentially the same as my intermatic. Power, neutral, power for switching circuit, and the Normally Open connection going to what needs power at each timing interval.

I stopped using the timer when mine died on. Not even sure why a 260 needs one, the damn thing takes days to die.

I use the timer mostly because of the summer operation for the domestic hot water. Have operated 260 since 1980 and have had some problems with leaks around domestic coil and furnace front. Bought new steel plate front from Axeman for the new coil I purchased from them which unfortunately was not the same size as the old one. I burned old plate off and welded new one on. The new coil had a better gasket. Had weeps and corrosion in steel plate under old one so do not shut boiler off. The boiler does have more un burned coal in the ash in the summer. I have always wondered if a Viton gasket would be better? I’m located near Oxford, PA. This is a great site I just discovered yesterday. Thanks, Jerry

A WG-770 clock motor is for a 1 hour timer.
If you still want a timer I have a "new old stock" 30 minute Intermatic C8835 here that I'd sell.
I have a old style Honeywell S400A/SA400B Mercury Timer for 1 hour also available.
Contact me by Private Message (PM) and we will work it out.

Coil gaskets need to be snugged periodically if you don't want them to start weeping. After installing, about once a week for a month or two and then yearly at least afterward. A boiler "breathes" and it works the gasket, snug them up.

Glad to hear you found something. My dad has been running a Tork timer for a few years. You can get them online from multiple vendors, but the last I checked Home Depot has the best price.
