I'LL put a level on it tomorrow to ensure the coal comes down on an even flow.

New pipe for the back base of the stove. It twists whichever way I need it to. Crimp end towards the thimble for which I have yet to purchase.

That old wood stove was heavy. Took everything I had to move it just 5 feet.

Tomorrow I have a vet appointment for my 1/2 Bassett/Beagle pooch at 11:00 am. Hope to get some pipe going after that......or maybe I'll get some CO alarms....1 bedroom and 2 different ones for the living room.

Added bonus...my gas stove in the kitchen has a low oxygen sensor built into it. It's not loud but let's you know something is wrong.

Looks like your making good progress. It'll probably still be cold enough to fire it up when you get it finished up.

I got a really bad cold or mild flu so I took the opportunity to research CO detectors while laying on a couch.

Based on the search of this forum and good to excellent online reviews I've settled on getting two Kidde Nighthawk CO detectors. One for the living room and one in my bedroom. My girlfriend and I are both 50 with no kids at home. Unless I hear otherwise from members of this forum I'll order them later on tonight.

I have 2. One Is just a simple co alarm looks like a smoke detector. And the other is an older version of what you have pictures. I think mine is 5 years old now. It plugs in to the wall and has a battery back up. Don't know much about it. Don't think it's ever gone above 2 and that's when I was starting the wood stove a few years back.

Crimping. I gave the crimping tool a little to much gusto. The two pipes went together to easily. I drilled both pipes and used a pair of Phillips heads self tapping screws to ensure the pipes held and stayed together.

A pic of the thimble. There's 4 pipes. Quad wall should be enough. I used the outside 3 walls since they looked brand new. I changed out the inner most wall.

This is a pic of the old pipe that use to be outside. It had 3 openings. 1 going into the wall of the house. 1 going straight up. 1 1 going down to a cap that would allow easy access for a brush.

I had to change this out for the moment to just a 90 degree stainless elbow. To clean, I'll have to take some self tapping screws out and take the elbow down. A little more work but O well.

A pic of the thimble in the background. Crimps towards the end of the chimney. There's two metal plates that keep the outside air and bugs away. The guy had two screws barely long enough to hold them to the thimble. I changed these two screws to T25s that were 3/8 (approximately )of an inch longer and a little thicker. The screws get a good bite now and hold those plates securely.

Been really sick for 2 weeks with the flu.. That's the reason for the slow install.
The install isn't completely done. I have to connect the stove to the thimble. I have two 90 elbows and plenty of straight pipe.

I'm kind of wondering how I will finally position the stove because the old wood stove had a hole in the top for the pipe. This ecno LL has the hole for the pipe in the bottom back of the stove. The blower motor is right above the hole for the pipe. I'm thinking about trying to route the pipe away from the motor as best as possible. I'll figure it out soon.
