how much coal do you burn?

I got the Alaska channing II up and running in my garage. it seems to do quite good. I've twisted the carpet feeder down so that I'm now burning about 30 lbs in 12 hours ( about 2 1/2 lbs an hour). stove temp is 450/475 range. It has an inside temp 30-35 degrees above outside temp if its 20 outside its about 50 -54 inside. How low will this go? How long can you go burning a 30 lb bucket of rice coal? My garage is kinda big tall steel building high ceiling and poorly insulated so I'm not expecting tropical heating capability. Pics to follow.

I burn about 60 pounds each day in my Chappee, hot water baseboard, OAT average 30 day/15 night. Maintains 74 to 78 inside. The house is about 1200sqft downstairs and 600sqft upstairs. Very little insulation anywhere. Yet.

Thanks. So I guess I'm burning about average amount of coal as others. I was kinda thinking the stove would burn less or be just a bit more efficient. Im glad I added the 2 heat transfer tubes because I do know they are working.

First season burning coal and averaged about 40-55 # a day depending on outside temp. running a Hitzer 710 on coaltroal TS2 thermostat. heating almost 4100 sq ft including a walkout basement, that I believe to be pretty well insulated. first season with it so nothing to compare it to. whole season was about just over 4 tons. im paying 345 a pallet here (northeast ohio) bagged anthracite Blaschak 2400# pallet. don't know if this is good or bad.

Season is just about up.I may light up again if we get a cold spell. About 1/2 ton of coal left out of 4 ton delivered in fall. So i burned about 1/2 ton more than usual. Lots of prolonged cold spells this past winter. Ill get another 4 ton in fall for next year. Its nice not to need any deliveries thru winter.

Nearly 5 ton this year. I lost a lot of residual heat to the basement walls, the ground was thawed a foot off of them all winter long.

Upstairs stayed nice and warm though.

I think this summer I am going to modify the blowers and heat jacket a bit and put foam around the whole inside of my basement to prevent losing all the heat, I would prefer it to go up to the joists and help warm the floor instead.

With an outdoor temp in the 20s, my Alaskan 140 Auger will keep around 3400sqft of an old drafty house at 68° using somewhere around 125-150lb in 24 hours. I'm just estimating... the hopper holds 250, and I top it off once a day from right around half full.

So far this heating season, I've burned over 7 tons of coal. Started it up in the early Fall & just let it idle to keep the dampness off, guess I really started running it the beginning of November... now it's April 28 and it's still burning (it's 40° and damp out - not happy about that, either). We had quite a few cold, windy days that cranked up the fuel consumption quite a bit, but I'd say I average around 6-7T a year.

Basically 3 tons per year, maybe 3.5 in a cold year, 1500 sq ft plus 1 car garage every evening.

4-1/8 tons from October 2018 through April 2019. That's for both home heat and hot water.
