Distribution Motor Harman Stoke
Hi guys in a bit of panic, went downstairs to stoker and realized the distribution fan was not blowing felt it where the motor is and it was very hot. I unplugged it from the control box and tried another outlet no go, then waited about 15 min plugged it in and can hear the motor hum but no go.
A - it doesnt look like these fans have oil inlets
B - where can I find another fan locally, Lancaster County, PA here
C - for years I kept the fan alway plugged in no issues, this year I put both fans in the control box
D - of course now its getting really cold around here
E - what is the best solution as I figure an oem fan will cost $$$

Is there a data plate on the fan? You can usually find a fasco or Dayton fan that will work.
There are oil ports, they are not obvious, just openings to run a few drops of oil down to the shaft.
The replacement fan will need to have the same flange measurements to fit into the slots and be close to the 135cfm of the oem. I would think anything less than 200 cfm would be OK, you can always use a refrigerator magnetic to throttle down the input to it.

the model id fasco 50752-500 - there is an online distributor that has that model it looks the same via the pic, but a question, I also looked at some on ebay and none of then have the cord\plug? is this something harman dis, put an electric cord on the end or do they normally come with one.
The motor you can hear but the squirrel cage doesnt move . there was some gunk on the fins not a tremendous amount but I cleaned\vacuumed no luck. also I never oiled the motor as I dont see where you would but maybe you need to?
I am not super electrical\motor inclined so some of this is foreign to me

the fan is a fasco 50752-500 - there is a place online that seems to have sane motor but I need to call them. is it common to have to wire on a plug afterwards or do they come with one.
not obvious is an understatement, i considered putting a few drop dow. will do that now let it sit maybe it seized and will relubricate. wish i would have know this, stove is 12yrs oldtitleist1 wrote: ↑Mon. I take it the combustion fan is same? I do oil auger motor
The combustion fan has the same less than obvious oil ports.
You should be cleaning the squirrel cage fan blades periodically on both blowers too. I use q tips & whatever cleaning solution is handy and do it toward the end of Jan. I have spare blowers, rotate to the clean ones and clean the dirty blades so they are ready for the beginning of the next year.
The refrigerator magnet can be used to block the intake on the distribution fan if you get a replacement blower that has way more cfm than the 135 on the oem. Sort of like the plate that is on the combustion blower. Not that you need to throttle it back, but the higher airflow may not be needed.

Some lads have even drilled their own holes as oil ports to add a few drops of oil each season...
Search site here for Turbine Oil...great lube and comes w/ long tube extention to reach any spot.

call my original dealer, he couldnt find the part# or give me a cost. Mcombs is out of stock on their fan, I assume I will need to take the cord off the one I have a wire it to the new box? does that sound right. I am trying to broaden my search as its cold and I dont want to wait a week or more for parts to come in.
I just spoke to elecmotor.com and they have the fan in stock. I asked if this fan needs to be oild and was told no, they are pre oiled and when they go they go

I ordered a larger one for mine. There's no way in my opinion, that blower is adequate at the stoves top 1/3 burn rate. Probably not an oversight for Harman since most of these stoves only run on the bottom 2/3 of their input.

I use CRC Lectra-Motive cleaner and spray the entire fan including putting the red straw into the two oil ports to clear out any dirt in those ports. Then I lube with oil and oil monthly while in use. I have a fan going on 12 years so far.
