I was in a rush to get things moving along and get the stove started for the season. I poured a Homer bucket of rice into hopper. Except it was 20% water! That blew a fuse and now I am dead in the water. Major bummer. I will revisit the issue tomorrow.

Holes in the bottom of your coal buckets are your friends too.

The very best ideas are the simplest. Why didn't I think of that?

Been there. Blaschak coal is really wet, I had let it dry out in a bucket, but wife didn't realize it and dumped it in, it ran down and snuffed out the fire, total clean out. it happens.

Chapter concluded. I placed an electric fire back there and this morning all is well. I learned a little trick or two. So just remember ... when a door slams in your face all the other doors slam in your face at the same time and life sucks some more.

An inspiring CN quote for the day..
