Are you saying the distance from the grate to the bottom of that plate (the opening for the coal) should be 2-3/4”? Because mine is abou 1-1/2”

I just looked at my Keystoker Kaa-2 stoker. My plate also sticks straight out, and even with the top of grate sides. So, there's your problem.......

I have a 160 & that top plate is attached to the frame above if I recall correctly, mine had come loose several seasons ago I think there are two screw holes that go into holes from the bottom up. I was able to feel for the holes (with furnace off & cold naturally) & reattach mine with some short countersunk stove bolts.

Got a hold of keystoker today and they confirmed the coal bed should be nearly to the top of the side rails and the plate I’m referring to should be around 2-1/2”. Gonna see if I can get that plate bent up and fire back up tonight

This is after about an hour of running with the feed all the way up and the air shutter open around half way maybe a little less. Does this look right? I appreciate all the input and help with this

Looks good, should really check your draft with manometer.

I have a power vent as well on mine. Took me two years but played with the draft to maximize the burn on my stove. I would definitely try and check where your draft is at. Mine was way off to start, may help you get a little better burn out of the stove

was going to reply but saw on page 2 that you solved your problem. Will check also on mine when it is cold that those screws are tight. I cleaned the stove a bit but did not know there were screws holding that plate. I am new to anthracite, and bought a used keystoker 90 like yours. everything looks good except the gasket I replaced that seems a bit to thick and I am having problems closing the door lol. Next thing to handle.

I have the same plate in my kaa2. Its sticks straight out about the same height as the sides of the grate. The one in yur picture looks like it was bent down. Id say my coal bed is about what 2001sierra states which is about 2.75in deep.
