Hot Air Coal Stoker Stove: keystoker econo 90
Coal Size/Type: rice

Post by lamina1982 » Sun. Sep. 30, 2018 7:59 am

Irecently picked up a 90k keystone stoker with a direct vent, i had posted pics in another thread. It did not come with any pipe though. What do i need to go from the diect vent to outside. Manual seems kinda vague on just 4" ,all i ever see for sale is 3" pelletpipe.
Thanks

Talk to Keystoker about pipe run proposed details. DV's do NOT have extended exterior exposed pipe runs.
Keep in mind, DV means DIRECT VENT...very short and just a bend or two. Making pipe run to ridgeline might be called a chimney instead...
So, basic rules will require larger pipe diameter for added flow resistance of adding extra length and even more turn/bends.

4 inch pellet pipe and all other sizes at northlineexpress.com
At Northline you can get pipe/chimney install guides.

The factory (when the stove is bought new) supplies the 4" stainless steel exhaust piping from the direct vent unit to the termination outdoors (everything you need to install stove). I however used 4" stainless steel "pellet pipe" and sealed with hi temp sealant it, even though pellet pipe has a internal seal. The manufacturer states only to use stainless steel pipe......they dont say what kind. So I used 4" stainless steel pellet pipe outside of house. Inside of house I used the what came the stove. I actually think the coal stove exhaust runs cooler than my pellet stove, but Ill have to wait until mid winter to know for sure.

I think I may be able to help you. I have the same stove and use 4" single wall 316 SS.
I have several extra new sections so if you want to contact me privately. [email protected]
