- Hot Air Coal Stoker Stove: Hitzer 608
- Other Heating: Fuel oil forced air
Hi all, I'm new to the forum as well as to burning coal. Just purchased a Hitzer 608 after a lot of research. My first question is concerning my barometric damper. Is this tee ok to use? All of the pics I've seen have a different style tee being used.
Thanks in advance for the help.
Paul
Also, I am going to need a longer cable for my Coal trol. Is it just a standard ethernet cable? Thanks in advance for the help.

Move the baro away from the stove, prior to the thimble ideally.

That Tee will work fine, however, that is not where you put it. The barometric damper should be in the center of the longest strait run of stove pipe. If that is not possible, closer to the thimble is better than closer to the stove.
The baro should be a type "RC". It will have two different slots for the counterweight, one for horizontal pipe and one for vertical pipe.

I like it...... I took the collar that came with the barometric damper, traced it on to black stove pipe, and made a new collar from black stove pipe.
