I have a brand new Dwyer Mark II Manometer. I have a Leisure Line AK-110 with 6" exhaust to Chimney exhaust. I would like to know exact details for installing it, such as where to connect it to on this furnace. You can view this rice coal furnace at www.leisurelinestove.com. I love the Dwyer unit and the high reviews on it, but I noticed the connections are plastic and I do not know where to mount this on my coal furnace. It seems to me that plastic connectors would melt with a coal furnace. If anyone that has a good working knowledge of this Manometer, I would appreciate explanations to where to connect this to on my furnace. Also, is the draft adjusted by the combustion blower where you move the plate to increase or restrict the air going to the underneath the coal, or the Barametric Damper on the Exhaust Pipe, or a little of both? Thank you. P.S. The 6" exhaust is located about the middle bottom of the side that goes through the blue side panel. The top door is made out of Cast Iron, so looking for a better place to mount the fitting through the furnace. Perhaps above or beside the top door if that is acceptable. That way I am only drilling through plate steel.

I drilled and tapped a 10-32 hole in the side of my stove about 2 inches from bottom and 2 inches from front of stove and screwed in a 10-32x1/8 barbed fitting and just stuck the tube onto that

I used a bulkhead connector in my fire door connected to the manometer with high temp silicone tubing to monitor the over fire draft

That look great xmanjeff. Problem is, I have a cast iron top door and that would not be the place to put this fitting, but I was thinking, after looking at the picture of my furnace I edited and put into my article, that I could safely drill through above the door, or beside the door and mount one of these bulkhead fasteners you have shown. That way I am only drilling through the plate steel in the firebox area. But then that brings about the question whether to the side of the door, above the door, centered or to the side? Also, does this clog frequently with flyash?xmanjeff wrote: ↑Thu. Page 11 step 15 in your manual talks about setting the draft with the probe in the flue pipe...
15. Check draft with draft meter. Or use instructions supplied with barometric damper if type with calibrated
scale. Draft should be set to between -0.03 to -0.05 between barometric damper and unit.

Flue pipe close to stove is where many of us measure draft. easy to drill and add a fitting.
A lot of good threads on here for installing the manometer, the gauge itself doesn't have to be mounted on the stove, it can be mounted close and just run the tubing to it.
lots of good info here:
