I am looking at a used LL Pioneer circa 2003. It does not have a coal trol and I was wondering if I bought a coal trol would I be able to install it on an older unit? Asking price is $650 which would be a big savings. Any reason to steer away from the unit? Pictures show it to be clean.

I have a 1999 or 2000 pioneer that had the manual controls and I installed a coaltrol on it in 2007.
Works great. Still using it
