I have seen different stoker stoves recommend a barometric damper and others not. For those of you who use a stoker stove what are your opinions of a damper? I don't want to spend extra money if I do not have to. I will be burning the Legacy Super Mag. My setup is a chimney that starts inside, through the wall, and up the side of the house to above the roof line about 20 feet high.

- Stoker Coal Boiler: AHS S130 Coal Gun
- Coal Size/Type: Lehigh Anthracite Pea
- Other Heating: Resistance Boiler (13.5 KW), ComfortMax 75
I have one, but I have not measured an efficiency benefit vs. when I've ran for extended periods with it covered over.

My KEYSTOKER Kaa-2 boiler came with a barometric damper.
